Phergal Laboratorios and the choice of a solution to scale its ecommerce

Every new Phergal brand meant a new online store and more fragmented payment management. Discover how the Spanish dermopharmaceutical company unified the payments of all its brands on a single platform with MultiSafepay.
Phergal Laboratorios is a Spanish high-end dermopharmaceutical cosmetics company with more than 40 years of history and a presence in over 45 countries. As its ecommerce business grew and new brands joined the online channel, managing payments became increasingly complex. With MultiSafepay, Phergal centralized its payment operations, simplified its integrations and improved how it manages its online stores.
Since 2023, Phergal’s online sales have grown by approximately 32%.
“Sales have been growing year after year. MultiSafepay’s arrival in our ecommerce stores has been very positive.”
— Antonio Rodríguez Jiménez, Laboratorios Phergal
Many brands, one growth story
Founded in 1984, Phergal manufactures in its own facilities in Torrejón de Ardoz (Madrid), which now cover more than 12,500 m² across three buildings. Under its name it brings together several high-end dermopharmaceutical cosmetic brands, among them:
- E’lifexir, the number one brand in anti-cellulite and firming products in pharmacies and parapharmacies in Spain, category leader for six consecutive years
- Atashi, high-end cosmetics inspired by Korean beauty
- Naturtint, its flagship and the brand with the strongest international presence, specializing in hair color and hair care
- Volumax, lip care, with more than 25 years of history and recent launches as an alternative to fillers
- Dr. Tree, its most eco-friendly line, with several products certified by Cosmos Ecocert
On top of these come its food supplement lines, such as Resalim. Handling the entire production process in-house, without relying on third parties, gives Phergal something it especially values: speed in bringing innovations to market. Altogether, the company now reaches more than 45 countries and employs more than 200 people.
Recognized on the industry’s toughest runways
This work does not go unnoticed. Phergal has been awarded at the Glamour Beauty Awards for four consecutive years and has won at the Vogue Beauty Awards for three consecutive years, with Atashi and E’lifexir among the recognized brands. At the Glamour Beauty & Wellness Awards 2026, Volumax Plump It Filler Instinct Nutri-Colour won the award for best lipstick, while Naturtint was named 3rd best hair care brand at the Digital Beauty Awards 2026. Shortly afterwards, the company also competed at the Spirit Beauty Global Awards in London, where more than 400 brands from 35 countries vie for recognition, including Estée Lauder, Clarins and brands from the LVMH group.
Competing on stages like these against international groups is strong validation of the product and the brand. And it is precisely this pace of growth, in visibility and in sales, that has pushed Phergal to build an ever larger and more complex ecommerce operation.

The challenge: increasingly fragmented payment management
Phergal’s growth has carried over, brand by brand, to its online channel. The company has been adding its own stores on different platforms, including PrestaShop, WooCommerce and, more recently, Shopify. Naturtint launched its own ecommerce store about three years ago, and Resalim joined shortly after.
Each new brand was, in practice, a new ecommerce project. And before working with MultiSafepay, each one dragged along the same underlying problem: payments handled through third-party modules, with no overall view and no centralized support. As Antonio pointed, “We had problems with payment completion. The online modules we had were from third parties, and we ran into that kind of issue. On top of that, we had nothing centralized and no dedicated support.”
A simpler integration and centralized management
Phergal got to know MultiSafepay through the team, who understood the root of their problem and proposed a solution built to scale, not just to solve the issue of the moment. The fact that MultiSafepay already had its own modules for PrestaShop and WooCommerce did the rest.
“With MultiSafepay having it own plugins for these platforms, all we had to do was install and configure them. It was all very straightforward.”
The transition was quick, with no integration dragging on over time. And with it came something Phergal hadn’t had until then: a centralized platform from which to manage the transactions and refunds of all its brands at once.
“You also have a centralized platform, which has been great for managing transactions and refunds. In the end, that helps not only on the technical side, but on the administrative side too.”
Growth behind every brand added
This is what sets Phergal’s relationship with MultiSafepay apart: they didn’t have to repeat the process every time they launched a brand. Atashi, E’lifexir, Dr. Tree, Naturtint, Resalim. Each arrived with its own catalog and its own identity, and all of them found the same trusted checkout already waiting for them.
That continuity also shows in moments of pressure. The team can switch between payment configurations without stopping the service if a problem arises. “If there’s any problem at checkout, you can go straight to your platform and we can switch to the other mode. We really haven’t had to stop the service.”
On top of this come Second Chance Emails, the feature that recovers abandoned carts through an automatic reminder, helping Phergal recover a total of 144 transactions so far in 2026.
More control over the checkout
Multiplying brands also multiplies administrative work, and this is where centralization has made a clear difference, especially in refund management, which used to be slower because it had to be handled directly from the bank’s platform.
“Before, you had to check in several places to keep track of payments; now we have everything in a single dashboard. That means the administration team doesn’t lose as much time.”
Managing payment methods like PayPal from the same platform, instead of in a separate module, also reduces the risk of operational errors, something that matters more the more brands there are to coordinate. “Having a separate platform for each solution created far more room for error.”
Growth that holds up, even at the most demanding moments
Since 2023, Phergal’s online sales have grown by approximately 32%. Antonio is clear that this figure reflects multiple factors, not just the payment platform, but he does point out that a stable checkout experience has worked in their favor, especially during peak season moments like Black Friday, when transaction volume surges and any friction comes at a high price.
“When transactions go through without any problems, that shows the solution is stable, and that benefits us directly.”
That stability is also reflected in the numbers: between 2024 and 2025, Phergal’s card transactions on MultiSafepay maintained a success rate of close to 92%.
A relationship that keeps looking ahead
Phergal keeps adding brands, channels and ways of selling, each in its own way, and MultiSafepay remains the foundation on which that growth is built. They have been working together for years, brand after brand, without having to redo the integration even once. “We’ve been working together for years, and the support has been very positive, especially because you’re based here in Spain. The error rate we’ve seen in transactions is really low.”
Different platforms, years of growth, and a single payment integration that has never had to be redone. That is what has sustained Phergal with MultiSafepay: a checkout that never stops, a transaction success rate close to 92% in 2024 and 2025, and a platform that has scaled at the same pace as its brands, with no added friction.
“It was a positive leap, and for now we’re sticking with it: we see that it keeps working.”
